Join us for the last lecture in a three-part series on Japanese Gardens. In Japan, An Observer’s Notebook will focus on a site by site visit investigating the Japanese cultural aesthetic as it relates to the art of placemaking and historical interpretation. Join Architectural Designer, Jeffery Albert on a tour of his most recent visit to Japan exploring the relevance of the Japanese experience to contemporary and historic architecture in both gardens and architectural masterpieces.

The Japanese Garden of Buffalo is located in Olmsted’s Delaware Park adjacent to the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society Pan-Am Building. The entrance is off the parking lot. Parking is free. Park and walk toward the lake on the west side to the building. The Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society’s Pan-Am Building is located at 25 Nottingham Court in Buffalo, New York. From Interstate 90, take Route 33 west to Route 198 (Scajaquada Expressway) west. Exit the 198 at Elmwood Avenue, turn right from the off-ramp onto Elmwood Avenue. Turn right onto the first street on your right , Nottingham Terrace, and turn into the parking lot at your right which is Nottingham Court. The Museum is located on your left from the parking lot. From Interstate 190, exit at Route 198 (Scajaquada Expressway) east and continue to the exit at Elmwood Avenue. Bear right and continue to the intersection with Elmwood. Turn right onto Elmwood Avenue and turn right on to the first street, Nottingham Terrace. At the first right turn into the parking lot which is Nottingham Court; the museum is located on your left from the parking lot.
